rules and divisions

TOurnament will be catch and release only.

  • Tournament is a two-day event, Friday and Saturday.

  • Combined inches of 4 biggest redfish in the slot (20“- 28”) over the two days.

  • Turn in scorecard at end of each day.

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for each division.

Fly Fishing and Artificial/Bait Rules:

Team must select on entry form which Division (Fly or Artificial/ Bait) they are to compete in.

  • Wading is permitted.

  • Guides are permitted and guided boats are judged in the same category as non-guided.

  • All anglers pre-registered for either the Fly or Artificial/Bait will be eligible for “Most Spots” contest.

  • Fish must be documented by camera with ability to play back at weigh-in time in order to qualify.

All photos must demonstrate the following:

  1. Fish on provided measuring device with measurement numbers clearly visible to the 1/8”.

  2. Clearly show the fish’s nose at end of the device and the tail at the other.

  3. Show provided day of wrist band holding fish on measuring board.


  • Teams may launch or load their boats from anywhere. Any Public & Private Boat Lifts or Ramps are ok.

  • New RULE for BP10, Only 1 fish per day may be scored from the jetties!

  • Lines out at sunrise.  Lines in at 3:00pm.

  • Weigh-in begins at 4:00 p.m. and will end promptly at 6:00 p.m.; Team must be in line for “weigh-in” no later than 6:00 p.m. to be eligible for prizes. Weigh-in location will be at P.O.C. Community Center Pavilion.

  • Tie breakers goes to the largest individual fish, then to the team weighing in first.

  • 3 Judges will be present to address a “Contest” by anglers – the resulting decision will be made by majority vote and based entirely on the Judging team’s discretion.

  • All applicable Texas Parks and Wildlife and Federal fishing and boating regulations apply.

  • Anglers must allow a 100-yard birth to all boats during tournament. The first boat in an area has the right of way. A boat may pass within 100yds of the first boat, but may not fish within 100yds of the first boat unless the boat with the right of way gives explicit permission to the 2nd boat.

  • Boats must have tournament provided pennants visible.

  • Safety is paramount.

  • Burning of shorelines is prohibited. 

  • Most importantly, this is for charity and good times, treat others how you would like to be treated.
